LETTER TO THE EDITOR

We should learn to live with love and acceptance

Thursday,  February 2, 2006

Dear Sir,

It saddens me to see how some ignorant folk still feel that religion discriminates against good people because of their sexual orientation. Evidently they are unaware of the vast number of gays and lesbians that have made valuable contributions to society.

Perhaps those who discriminate against gays and lesbians should focus their resentment on offenders of the law rather than on honest, law-abiding people who choose to love one another, regardless of sexual orientation.

Protesting against known criminal offenders is reasonable, but to protest against one’s human right in this day and age is unacceptable.

Unfortunately, in the midst of holy wars and acts of terrorism in the name of God, we as humans living on this planet have many lessons to learn until we can learn to live with love and acceptance in our hearts and minds for our fellow human beings.

Peter Adi
