Person of the Day
Over the last thirty years, Lawford Tatum has donated a lot of blood. ”I only eat fish, not meat, so it’s good blood,” he says. Mr Tatum adds he’s been eating fish all his life and catches all he eats. “I’ve bought fish just once, and that was since I started work as Branch Manager of Home Gas on Cayman Brac,” he adds. Mr Tatum, who jokes his blood type is “Good O”, also drinks a lot of sorrel, stewed with ginger and sugar. It gives him energy and is good for the blood, he says. He doesn’t feel at all weak after giving blood, and encourages more Brackers to volunteer. Readers are encouraged to submit nominations for Person of the Day or Caymanian of the Week.
