Hair for every mood and taste

Celenia Vidal showing some of her more colourful
products

Celenia Vidal had $200 and wanted to do something with the money other than spending it on herself. So she bought some synthetic hair for retailing. In three days she made 100 per cent profit and voila ‘Pleasant Sight’ was born.

“I wanted to do something with the money that I had and I did not want to buy shoes or spend it on myself,” she told The Jamaican in Cayman.

“I decided that I’d buy some hair and sell them back. After really putting some thought into it, I decided to buy hair of different colours because I had planned on serving customers of every different race and different taste,’ she said.

Mrs Vidal pointed out that women are moody and change their appearance to match whatever mood they are in. “So why not cater to that need. I have hair for every type and texture,” she said.

The businesswoman, who also uses the product she sells, said that she buys the goods after she personally examines them and is satisfied that they are of excellent quality.

“I don’t sell things that I would not use myself,’ she pointed out.

‘Pleasant Sight’ recently celebrated its first anniversary and Mrs Vidal said that it is growing fast.

“I have started selling Tammy Taylor nail polish, Aroma-therapeutic foot products, perfumes and bath and oils,” she said.

Mrs Vidal is excited about the business. “I’m very happy about doing this business, about the ideas that I have and about catering to women of every nation,” she said.

“I get my inspiration when women purchase my goods and they are all excited about how it would make them look. I also get excited knowing that I made them happy,” Mrs Vidal said.

The Jamaican in Cayman got the chance to witness first hand Mrs Vidal interacting with her customers; how she got caught up in their excitement after they found the right hairpiece.

She sells her product from her husband’s construction company office Construction 1 Limited on 50 Barnes Drive off Seymour Road (Dump Road).

Mrs Vidal was born in Kingston, Jamaica and later migrated to the Cayman Islands with her family. A former banker, she has been married for 14 years and runs her husband’s construction business.
