LETTER TO THE EDITOR
We hope Grand Cayman indeed goes from ‘Good to Great’
Tuesday, February 14, 2006
Dear Sir,
I am a resident of the United States. My wife and I have been coming to Grand Cayman for the past 9 years. For the most part, we very much enjoy our stay on your Island.
However, as your article suggests, there have been a number of times where we have felt our time and money would be better spent visiting an island in the Caribbean where the expense is more in line with the service rendered.
Though we have come in contact with a number of wonderful people who have made us feel welcome, I would have to say there have been a great number of occasions when the local people of Grand Cayman that we have come in contact with have made us feel like we are not welcome on your island.
We have recommended Grand Cayman to our friends and family over the years. Those that have elected to visit Grand Cayman all come back with the same “theme” – “The Island is beautiful, but it is so expensive. And the people really aren’t that friendly. Why don’t you go to one of the other Caribbean islands where it is less expensive?”
So in closing, we certainly hope Grand Cayman indeed goes from “Good to Great”!
