All-Star night for FirstCaribbean Women’s Basketball League

Thursday,  February 16, 2006

The FirstCaribbean Bank Women’s League will hold its All-Star night on Thursday 16 February. The evening will feature a three-point shootout, as well as the traditional All-Star game.

The three-point shootout will open the evening, with each league team represented by two shooters. WestTel straight shooters will be fielding Robyn Joe and Eva Aiken. They will be up against Darice Powell and Katrina McLaughlin of Financial Integrated Services, Cassiane Lawrence and Brianna Ebanks of Welly’s Cool Spot, and Kamilla Nagy and Mesha Gordon of Wendy’s Lady Heels.

After the three-point shootout, it will be on to the main event, the All-Star game.

The two teams, named Gold and Blue to represent the corporate colours for league sponsor FirstCaribbean Bank, comprise a mix of all four league teams on both sides.

The Gold team will feature league stalwarts like Kamilla Nagy (Wendy’s), Cindy Loadman (FIS), Robyn Joe (WestTel), and Eva Aiken (WestTel). They will be up against a Blue team featuring the likes of Merta Day (FIS), Cassiane Lawrence (Welly’s), Dionne O’Garro (Wendy’s) and Laverne Ebanks (FIS).

The evening will kick off at 6:30 pm, with the All-Star game set to start at 7:30 pm.

Spectators are urged to come out and see just how good our local players are.
