The local branch of international financial services provider State Street, State Street Cayman Trust Company, has announced that it will be sponsoring the football, cricket, swimming, basketball, and athletics divisions of the Cayman Interscholastic Games. The sponsorship of approximately CI$11,000 will allow the organisers to ensure the smooth running of the Games, which it is hoped will lay the groundwork for a regional Interscholastic Games at some point in the future.

Managing Director of State Street Cayman, Brent Rogers, said that the sponsorship opportunity suits his company perfectly, as it is broad based, not focussing on only one sport. It also involves the youth, and therefore helps to build a solid foundation for the future of sport in Cayman.

“We do it as part of good corporate citizenship. We also want our employees to feel good about the company they work for,” said Mr Rogers.

Director of Sport, Dalton Watler, accepted the cheque from Mr Rogers, thanking him for the generosity of the sponsorship, and expressing his desire to build the Interscholastic Games into something spectacular, with the continued help of State Street.
