Baby Show at Agricultural Show

St Alban’s Holy Communion
St. Alban’s Church of England will hold the service of IMPOSITION OF ASHES AND HOLY COMMUNION on Ash Wednesday 1 March at 9:00 am at the church, 461 Shedden Road, George Town (opposite Bodden Place). All are invited.

Lions Breakfast
The Lions Club of Grand Cayman will be hosting a breakfast at the Lions Centre on Saturday 25 February starting at 7:00 am. All the usual great breakfast food. All are invited.

Evangelistic Campaign
The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Prospect (Rosemary Street, off Marina Drive), will be hosting Dr Hugo Gambetta, President, Everlasting Gospel TV Ministries, as guest speaker for an evangelistic campaign entitled ‘God’s Final Warning’ in English, and ‘Surprising Revelations from the Bible’ in Spanish, nightly from 7:00 to 8:15 pm for the English campaign and 8:30 to 9:30 pm for the Spanish campaign. Dinner Sale

School Design Expert’s Visit
Professor Stephen Heppell, world-leading authority on education innovation, will be making two public presentations entitled ‘Laying the Foundations Today for tomorrow’s Learning’ on Wednesday 22 February at Cayman Brac High School from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and on Thursday 23 February from 3:30 to 5:00 pm at the Mary Miller Hall in Red Bay, at the invitation of the Minister for Education, the Hon. Musical – The King and I
The John Gray High School’s Music Department will be performing the musical “The King and I” at the School Hall on Thursday 23 February and Saturday 25 February at 7:30 pm, and on Sunday 26 February at 3:00 pm. 2006 Woman of the Year
The Cayman Brac Business and Professional Women’s Club has opened nominations for the 2006 Woman of the Year. Nominations are open through close of business on 24 February. Nomination forms and boxes can be found at the District Administration reception desk, Cayman National Bank, Faith Hospital, Cable & Wireless, the Almond Tree Cafe, and Creek sub-post office. John Gray High School Reporting Evening

Grand Court Matters
The clerk of the Grand Court has advised that Jurors for the current session of the Grand Court are no longer required to attend. This does not apply to Jurors on the current trial. Jurors who were summonsed for the 2nd March are still required to attend on that date at 9:00 am.

CIHS Class of 1991

School Speed Zones
Newly installed school speed zone warning signs has been activated at the Red Bay Primary and Savannah Primary schools. Motorists are asked to take note of this. Police presence will be on both sites during the relevant times to ensure that the public adheres to new zones.

SMB Post Office Boxes
The Postal Service is advising members of the public who have post office boxes at the Seven Mile Beach facility who have not collected box keys following Hurricane Ivan, that their boxes and keys will be reassigned if unspoken for by 28 February. The Women’s Resource Centre has launched a new domestic abuse support group. Dubbed ‘Journey to Freedom’, the group will meet over 12 weeks, giving participants an outlet for their feelings. Cadet Corps recruiting
Recruitment of Batch #005 of the Cayman Islands Cadet Corps has begun and will extend to 28 February 2006. Parents of children aged 12-16 years in junior high and senior high schools are invited to pick up forms at the Cadet Corps’ offices at First Assembly of God Church, 195 Old Crewe Road, or request a form by email at cicadet2@candw.ky or fax by calling 946-9810. The Cadet Corps hopes to recruit at least 60 youngsters, and their training will begin in March 2006.

Would like to inform the public that their Pink Hibiscus Coffee Shop located at George Town Hospital has been relocated within the Hospital. It is open five and a half days a week and situated in the old X-Ray Department opposite the Mental Health Department just along from the Women’s Centre. Attention All Students

No fishing in grouper areas
The Marine Conservation Board is reminding the public that designated grouper spawning areas are closed to fishing. The prohibition includes setting a fish trap in these areas or within a one-mile radius of a designated grouper spawning area. For maps of the Marine Parks and designated grouper spawning areas and a brochure of the Marine Conservation Laws, contact the Department of Environment at 949-8469 or go on-line at www.gov.ky.

The Department of Environment and Marine Conservation Board wishes to remind the public that a fishing license is required for work permit holders who wish to fish from shore for consumption. National Gallery’s Little Artists Programme
The Little Artists programme at the National Gallery Education Centre is a new drop-off programme that allows children aged 3 to 6 to explore their creative side.
