Family, friends and dignitaries extended a warm welcome home to Selita Ebanks last week, when the Super Model came home to join the judging panel for the Miss Cayman Islands pageant.
Born and raised on Walkers Road, she started her modelling career at 17 years old. She has appeared in a number of leading magazines from Glamour and Marie Claire to Vogue and has also appeared in advertising campaigns for Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren and Levi’s Jeans.
Last year she began rubbing shoulders with the crème de la crème of the modelling world when she appeared in the Victoria Secrets Television special.
Kirk Freeport threw a special party in her honour last Friday before the big event on Saturday, where all eyes were on the supermodel, who said she was extremely excited about helping to choose who would wear the crown.
“It really is something to be asked to help select the next Miss Cayman Islands,” said Ms Ebanks. “It is an honour to choose a young Caymanian who has a love for the Cayman Islands as I do.”
Everyone was excited to see Ms Ebanks in her home country once again and Ms Ebanks received a gift from the hosts, Kirk Freeport.
Welcoming Ms Ebanks home officially was Hon Charles Clifford, Minister of Tourism.
“I can’t tell you how proud I am to welcome our celebrity judge home and I am very pleased she accepted the invitation,” he said.
