Entrepreneur of the Week

Devon Edie

Monday,  February 27, 2006

By day it is all work for Devon Edie as he reproduces artwork for things such as photos and logos, and then uses the latest laser technology to engrave and etch these on to varying items – from memorial plaques and gifts, to kitchen backsplashes and decorative tabletops.

However, in the evening when Mr Edie closes the doors of his business – Geographics, at 72 Eastern Avenue – he is usually heading to some place to live his other life, that of a musician.

Mr Edie has been playing the saxophone since he was 12 years old. He plays regularly now as a member of two groups – “After Dark” and “Kay Kay.”

Mr Edie was involved in his family’s business for many years before he opened his own company.

He said, “I worked for five years with Edie’s Décor before branching out on my own.

“At Geographics we engrave on to granite, acrylic, marble, wood and other materials.”
