Correction and clarification

Monday,  February 27, 2006

Cayman Net News would like to point out that in the lead article ‘7-year Rollover Mess’ published on Friday, 24 February, issue 1037 it was stated that there, “will be no exempted positions from the seven-year term limit on work permits for lawyers and any other professions, unless Government administration sets out a specific policy to the Immigrations Boards.”

However, it was intended to say that there will be “no mass exempted positions” from the seven-year policy meaning that no specific profession will automatically be granted an exemption.

It is understood that exempted status is still granted to individuals on a case-by-case basis by application from the employer to the Immigrations Boards.
