gets Insurance Veteran

Mr. Peter D. O'Leary

A professional with many years of experiencein the insurance business, Mr. Peter D. O'Leary, recently joinedthe Cayman Islands practice of Deloitte & Touche as Directorof Insurance Services.

As one of the Assurance & Advisory Servicesteam, Mr. O'Leary will take on a leading role in the provisionof financial advisory and audit services to the firm's clientsin the insurance sector.

Originally from Canada, Mr. O'Leary hasbeen in the Cayman Islands since 1989, where he served in variouscapacities with a leading insurance service provider. In thisrole, he was responsible for many captive insurance companiesand was responsible for the development of life and annuity companies,working closely with other professionals and institutions in thefinancial services sector.

Prior to his arrival in Cayman in 1989,Mr. O'Leary was an Associate Director of Practice Inspection withthe Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants, where his dutiesincluded inspecting and reviewing office and file procedures ofpublic accountants in Ontario, Canada.

He is no stranger to Deloitte & Touche,having worked in the Bermuda practice from 1983 to 1988 as a senioraudit manager and associate member of the tax training committee.

Mr. O'Leary has a Bachelor of Business degreefrom the University of New Brunswick and is a member of both theCanadian and Ontario Institutes of Chartered Accountants, as wellas a member of the Cayman Islands Society of Professional Accountants.His new role at Deloitte & Touche will enable the firm toextend its reputation as a premiere service provider in the areaof captive insurance.
