Postal Rates Raised
On 21 April 2001, amendments to the postal regulations (1997 Revision)will come into effect, including price changes for mailbox rentalsand postage.
The new costs per year for outside boxesare: $250 for large, $100 for medium and $75 for small. For insideboxes the cost will be $150 for a large and $30 for a small. Theannual rental of a private bag will be $300.
The charge to send local letters, postcards,printed papers and newspapers will rise from 10 cents to 15 cents. Using a franking machine will now cost $200 per year rather than$80. The annual fee for personalised general delivery will be$30.
