A scene from the play
A cast of forty-plus people presented themusical drama, "Risen with Him" at the First Assemblyof God Church, Sunday 8 and Monday 9 April.
Brilliant costumes numbering over 100 helpedbring to life the story of Easter. Tammy Greeson wrote and directedthe play.
The passing away of a close friend and afamily member almost kept the play from happening. The cast beganmeeting since February.
The pastor of First Assembly of God, PastorTorrence Bobb and his wife Elsa, have used drama extensively intheir 30 years of Pastoral Ministry in Cayman and Trinidad. "Weshare the same vision with Phillip and Tammy who see Drama asan effective tool in reaching out to people," says PastorBoob.
The play incorporated an impressive arrayof songs, monologues, acting and dancing to tell the timelessstory of the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus.
The presentation began with the Jewish leaders'displeasure of Jesus' popularity and plotting his death. It thenmoved to Judas' betrayal. The trial before Pilate was next followedby Jesus' crucifixion. The highlight of the play was the resurrectionof Jesus, which was accompanied by a dazzling display of pyrotechnicexplosions, fog and special lighting effects.
The play was dramatized by a large cross-sectionof the community including a former Miss Cayman, Mona LisaTatum who sang a solo as Jesus was taken down from the cross.
