Capt. Kennedy Panton
Cayman Airways, the country's national flagcarrier recently announced that Capt. Kennedy Panton has beennamed Vice President of its Flight Operations.
In his new post, Capt. Panton will be responsiblefor all areas of flight operation - pilots, in-flight and operationsand will represent these operating departments at the executivelevel.
Capt. Panton has more than 22 years withCayman Airways, with more than 10,000 hours of flight time, andmost recently held the position of Cayman Airways' Chief Pilot.
His extensive experience as a pilot, andthe necessary interaction with In-flight and Operations that hisprevious position required, provides Capt. Panton with the necessaryexperience and knowledge to represent the interest of these airline'soperations areas at an executive level.
"Capt. Kennedy Panton's commitmentto the success of Cayman Airways, and his extensive experiencein the airline's operational areas make him a natural fit forthis position," said Mr. Mike Adam, Acting President andCEO of Cayman Airways.
Capt. Panton attended the Florida Instituteof Technology where he received his pilot license in 1979. Hemoved steadily up the ranks becoming first officer of the DC11cargo plane. In 1988 he was promoted to captain of the Boeing727. He is a founding member of the Cayman Airline Pilot Association,and, as time progressed, he earned the respect of his peers whenhe was appointed to the position of Chief Pilot position in 1997.
"It is a big challenge. I look forwardto working in this new position. Whatever areas I am responsiblefor I will endeavor to ensure that Cayman Airways is successful,"he stated.
Capt. Kennedy was recently married in Miamito Becky Greene, from Washington D.C.
