CITA ElectsNew Board
In a recent press release issued the CaymanIslands Tourism Association (CITA) stated that last year was achallenging, yet successful one of operations for the new organization, which was formed by the merger of the Cayman Islands Hotel andCondominium Association. Numerous projects and events for thetourism industry and the Cayman Islands community as well as extensivemarketing and government relations building initiatives were highlightedby CITA General Manager, Nicole La Valette at the well-attendedAnnual General Meeting held on 17 April, 2002 at the Hyatt Regency.
CITA President, Rod McDowall outlined the association's prioritiesand challenges for the year ahead, and CITA Treasurer, Brian Uzzellpresented the CITA finances for the 2001/02 financial year, whichshowed that the association is in a healthy financial position. This is predominately due to the fact that all assets previouslyowned by the Cayman Tourism Alliance were transferred to CITA.Mr. Uzzell reported, that to this point in time, other than someoffice furniture, no assets have been transferred from the priorCayman Islands Hotel and Condominium Association.
