Fun for allat Humane Society's Fundraising Dinner

The Cayman Humane Society's Annual FundraisingDinner was an enchanting night filled with gourmet cuisine, fabulouswine, and entertainment provided by Barefoot Man, Chuck Quappe,Robyn Whatley and volunteers.

Pre-dinner proceedings included champagneand canapés which were sipped and nibbled while listeningto the soothing local sounds of Barefoot Man and Chuck Quappe.To every auction participant's delight, the Hyatt Grand Pavilion'sdoors were opened to guests to view and bid on what can only bebest described as a plethora of beauty.

Silent auction tables were filled with awide variety of beautiful and collectable items generously donatedby local merchants including the Humane Society's own Claws ItThrift Shop.

Exotic candlelit center pieces adorned withBirds of Paradise added an elegant touch to the room which wassoon filled with the sensational smells of the Lighthouse Restaurantand Restaurant Pappagallo. As over 200 guests enjoyed a trulyblissful dinner, volunteer servers outfitted in Humane SocietyT-shirts weaved through the room pampering diners.

The excitement continued as auctioneer,Alistair Paterson, not only auctioned items but also entertainedguests with his canny humor. As auctioneer, he met the challengeensuring the live auction drew the hands of battling bidders whobid on items both large and small. Guests generously bid on collectablewines, vacation packages, works of art by area artists, spa treatmentsand restaurant dinners.

The closing of the evening could not havebeen more appropriate as Humane Society volunteers and Broadway"Cats" performer Robyn Whatley performed a renditionof "Cayman Cats" produced by Susan Howe, Niky Grekosand Giuseppe Gatta. Beautifully costumed, the performers struttedaround the stage and purred their way into the hearts of the audience.The performance ended as Ms. Whatley awed the audience when shesang "Memories", in true Broadway style.

The Humane Society would like to expresstheir gratitude to all of the volunteers and local businesseswho made the dinner possible. Cayman's business community gavewithout hesitation making this year's dinner yetanother success.

All of the proceeds will benefit the CaymanHumane Society.
