Fifteen year old Jorge Ebanks turned ina 'show time' performance as he scored 21 points and led his teamAthletes Foot to a 90 55 victory against the Philippinesin the Texaco/Wendy's Men's Basketball league played on Thursday,April 25, 2002 at the Cox Court.
Ebanks was well supported by teammate JasenCampbell, who had 12 points. For the Philippines, the top scorerwas Robert Gonzalez with 14 points.
In the second and very exciting game, theEsso "Blazers" stormed from behind to score a 71 to64 victory against George Town Sports Club. Kael Leslie with 19points and Daniel Spence with 15 led Esso in scoring. For GeorgeTown it was Daniel Augustine with 15 who top scored.
The Basketball League continued last Saturday,April 27, with Wendy's "Tarheels" cruising to a comfortable110 to 50 victory over Centennial. Top scorers for Wendy's wereAndrew Wisdom with 23 points and Ovaine Monteith with 22. ForCentennial, Gener Barrozo had 22 points.
The second game between Sixers and Subway"Lakers" was a low scoring affair, with Sixers comingout on top by a 44 to 38 margin. Leading the scoring for Sixerswas Damian Ebanks with 10 points. For Subway it was Silver Watsonwith 18 points.
