Marseille's America's Cup bid
MARSEILLE, France, (AFP) Marseille-born Zinedine Zidane is backing his native city's bid to host the next America's Cup.
Real Madrid's French international has accepted an invitation to join the Marseille city's committee set up to try and win the race to host the event in 2006/07.
Normally the America's Cup is staged by the country holding the trophy but with landlocked Switzerland upsetting the odds and defeating Team New Zealand earlier this year a home is currently being sought for the next edition.
