Rooster 101/Z99 team up with
Cayman Net News

With an agreement that signifies a new era in the interaction between two of Cayman's most popular local media organisations, Rooster 101 and Cayman Net News (CNN) have initiated a partnership to bring radio listeners the latest local and overseas news and commentary through both print and radio.

Rooster 101 will now have pre-publication access to Cayman Net News stories in order to give its listeners an advance sampling of the next day's newspaper. Z-99, the other radio station of the Hurley's Entertainment Group, will also have access to the stories as they are being developed prior to going to press.

An elated Randy Cable, General Sales Manager of Rooster 101 believes that the joint venture will benefit everyone. "At Hurley's Entertainment, we are proud to constantly improve our services to our listeners, and this news partnership that has formed between Cayman Net News and our stations Rooster 101 and Z99, will bring a broader, more in-depth level of local news coverage to our airwaves," he says, "We feel the strength, integrity and professionalism of the Cayman Net News organization combined with the size of our radio audience and their extreme interest in local news will make this cutting edge relationship very successful for everyone involved, especially our listeners"
Other features of the partnership include a daily radio/newspaper poll and the contribution of a weekly newspaper column written by Rooster 101 News Talk host and producer Barrie Quappe.

The "Question of the Day" poll will be posed both on air and in the newspaper. People will be able to respond to the poll on-line at either the Cayman Net News or the Rooster 101 websites.

Cayman Net News' publisher Desmond Seales agrees that the partnership could be the start of even more extensive cooperation between the media entities. "We recognize joint marketing efforts will create a win-win-win situation for the advertiser, our marketing partners and the public," he says, "This is not a new trend, in fact it has been around for some time in more advanced markets. We are pleased to meet this demand which will encourage local spending and marketing opportunities."
