SITA Presents Little Cayman's 2003 Sister Islands Cook-Off

Miss Cayman Islands 2003, Nichelle Welcome will be in attendance
Little Cayman will be holding the 6th annual Little Cayman Sister Islands Cook-Off (SICO 2003) on 17 May in front of the hanger at the end of the runway on Little Cayman.
The four categories this year include: Entrée, soup/appetizer, salad, and dessert. Each category will have a first and second prize Nambe Trophy. As well, first prize will receive CI$25.00 cash and second prize will receive $10.00. The highest overall score in all categories will receive the coveted SICO Nambe Grand Champion Trophy, and $100.00 cash.
This taste off is open to anyone who is interested in entering. The resorts on the island can sponsor whoever they wish to enter the competition or individuals can enter without sponsorship. Entry fee is $10.00 per dish. An individual can enter as many dishes as they want in any category. Each entry must be able to serve at least 50 people.
Each entrant must provide his or her own serving utensils, flatware, and plates/bowls etc. for a minimum of 50 servings. Serving space for each entry is limited to 30" x 24". If an entry exceeds these dimensions it risks being removed from the tasting area. All dishes entered must be delivered to the taste tent in front of the Little Cayman runway by 5:00pm. If a dish is not on the display table by 5:20 that dish will be eliminated from the competition.
The five Judges will be escorted to the
taste tents from the Hungry Iguana at 5:30. After the judges have
been through the last tent (dessert) the taste tables will be
opened to a limited number of ticket holders (60) who can then
roam the taste tents sampling what they would like.
The cook-off will be accompanied by a raffle for airplane tickets,
dinners, fishing equipment, scuba gear, and other valuable prizes.
The traditional egg toss competition will also bring lucky winners
cash prizes. D. J. Emeril and his Little Cayman Cookers will provide
music. Tickets for a traditional dinner (CI$ 15.00) including
jerk chicken, conch fritters, cole slaw, and rice and peas can
be purchased at the event, and tickets for access to the tasting
area (CI$20.00) (after the judges have been through) will be available
from the ticket counter on the day of the event, or tickets can
be purchased in advance from any participating SITA member on
