Bill Rodgers run Nears

There are only eight weeks left before theOUT TO HELL 'N BACK 10K, which will herald the return of US distancerunning legend bill Rodgers to Grand Cayman after a fourteen-yearabsence.

Local runners, joggers, and walkers are all urged to get readyto participate in this activity. a jampacked weekend of happeningsis scheduled for the 15-17 September.

Confirmation has just been received that U.S. marathoners KimPawelek of Jacksonville and Keith Brantly of Fort Launderdalewill participate. Kim Pawelek finished seventh at the U.S. womensmarathon trials this year with a time of 2:39:16, while Brantly,who had an Olympic qualifying time of 2:12, was unlucky on trialsday, Rod DeHaven, the trials winner failed to reach the Olympicstandard, which, under the US Olympic selection process, lefthim as the sole US representative at sydney in the 26.2 event.

Early registration for the September run is encouraged. participation,not necessarily speed, is the prevailing theme being promotedby the organizers, the hoenix Athletic Club.

Major sponsor Outback Steakhouse, along with the Hyatt Regency,Cayman Airways, Foster's Fod Fair, and others, are going all outto provide generous support of the weekend's hapenings.

While those in the fast lane will be rewarded for top overalland age-group results, every finisher is assured of a number ofsouvenirs of participation.
