National Trust 1st Annual Six-A-SideCricket Tournament

The National Trust 1st Annual Six-A-SideCricket tournament was held Saturday, July 15th at the Smith RoadOval. Eight local teams were swinging for sixes and the NationalTrust trophy. Cable & Wireless and ABC were the final twoleft standing to battle it out for the championship.
With ABC winning the toss, Cable & Wireless batted first,notching up a worthy 59 runs for 3. The partnership of R. bovelland D. Johnson sealed the championship for ABC on the 3rd ballof the fifth and final over.
Immediately following the tournament prize giving, was the Trust'sfundraising cash draw. representatives from the accounting firmof KPMG were on hand and cnfirmed that all tickets had been accountedfor and all tickets sold were in the drum. CI Cricket AssociationChairman, Chief Inspector Courtney Myles, drew the winning ticketsand vice chairman of the National Trust, martyn Bould, was thereto prsent the winners with their cheques. First prize of 410,000went to Peter thompson, second prize of $3,000 went to MaureenWatler ad the third prize of 42,000 went to Wayne ross.

She went on to thank the numerousvolunteers and everyone who purchased tickets and who came outto join the day of cricket fun.
