Softball Round-up

Congratulations to the Rangers United SoftballTeam on their successful quest for gold. Sponsored by Royal Bankof Canada (Trust) and Fine Interiors, the new female championsRangers United conquered defending champions Esso Tigers thispast weekend, taking Games 2 and 3 of the CISA Softball ChampionshipSeries.

On Saturday evening, in a close match-up the Rangers, edged theTigers 10 ñ 6 with Pitcher Ivy Taylor leading the defensiveand Molly Moore and Marva Rankine leading in offense. On Sunday- it was a different ball game - the Rangers United Softball Teamcame out attacking from the beginning, displaying even greateroffensive and defensive tactics. Of course, the ball is roundand anything could have happened, but with the drive and determinationput forth by the entire Rangers Team, the victory seemed almostinevitable.

Whilst Margo Whittaker and Captain Dionne Whittaker, made a greatcontribution, combining for 5 of the 7 runs made by the Esso Tigers,Marva Rankine, Eleanor Berry, Danielle Bouchard-Jones and theircaptain Faylene Ebanks-Suckoo lead the Rangers scoring, combiningfor 10 of their 16 runs. (Final Score 16 - 7 in favor of RangersUnited).
Under the Coaching of Gerson Henriques, Sr. and Warner Cayasso, this Rangers Team have accomplished much in their first year.In a closely contested League, they lead the league standingswith 10 wins 6 losses. They then went on to capture the FemaleChampionship Series.

The Rangers United, formerly the Diamonds and the Rangers Teams, which have combined forces, is definitely a team to be reckonedwith. From batting statistics, pitching statistics and other variouscategories, members of the Rangers Team are among the League leadersin CISA Statistics.

The Rangers are indeed very honoured to have The Royal Bank ofCanada (Trust) and Fine Interiors as their sponsors and by useof this medium, I would like to take this opportunity on behalfof our team, to publicly thank them for their support. Your teamgave it their best shot and were successful - thanks again foryour support.
