Singles Open 8-Ball Tourny

Eileen Tulin, originally of Ontario, Canadamade history this past weekend by taking first place in the singlesopen 8-ball tournament held on Sunday July 30, 2000 at The AtticBilliard Lounge. Eileen, who was the founding member of the previousTuesday night league team - The Railers, proved her singles abilityby winning every game of the double elimination tournament.
Known by her hometown rivals as the "Woman In black"she carries her personal pool cue in a snakeskin case along withher motto that states "Never let em see you sweat".In a private interview with this weeks champion Eileen remarked"What I love about playing pool is that it is never the samegame - it's never boring. You can go anywhere in the world, finda pool table and meet friends."
Mike Cook, who is here on vacation from New South Wales, Australiatook second place in this weeks open tournament. He lost his firstgame to Eileen in the semi-finals and was forced to come backaround from the "b" - side and play her again in thefinals. Eileen fought hard to hold on to her perfect record bydefeating Mike once again in the final match.
Eileen is looking forward to next Sunday when she hopes to defendher championship against any opponent who comes her way. the nextsingles tournament takes place August 6, 2000 at 2 pm and is opento anyone who wishes to participate. Players of all skill levelsare encouraged to join, cash prizes are awarded to first and secondlace finishes.
