Out to Hell 'N Back 10K - SoonCome

Bill Rodgers first arrived on the Caymanrunning scene in 1980.

Twenty years later, still running strongly in masters competition,he will return on the weekend of 15-17 September to renew oldacquaintances and make new friends.

The personable and unassuming legend of the United States roadrunning scene, won the Boston and New York marathons four timeseach, and dipped under two hours, fifteen minutes for the 26.2mile distance on 28 separate occasions.

Rodgers will be joined not only at the Out to Hell N' Back 10K,but also at a coaching seminar by fellow U.S. marathoners KimPawelek and Keith Brantly.

Kim Pawelek clocked 2:39 to finish seventh at this year's US women'sOlympic trials, while Brantly achieved the Olympic standard bydint of a 2:12 performance.

Expected to arrive for the weekend's activities are visitors fromAlabama, North Carolina, Florida, Jamaica, and other Caribbeancountries.
Participation in practice runs with the celebrity invitees shouldbe possible.

The more than one hundred present residents who ran previouslyin one or more of the seven races with Bill Rodgers between 1980-1986should now be aware of the upcoming celebration, and every oneof them is encouraged to take part, either running, jogging, orwalking.

A cash prize will be awarded to the first male and female finisherswho competed in one of those earlier Bill rodgers races.
All finishers will receive a number of souvenirs to commemoratethe occasion.

Major sponsor Outback Steakhouse, along with Cayman National,Foster's Food Fair, Cayman airways, and the Hyatt Regency aregoing about to provide support for the three days of activities.
