Bodden Family Reunion 2000

Family Ties immediate andextended family members of Vibert and Annie Bodden got togetherin Grand Cayman recently for a weekend of happy memories and funfilled entertainment

 

 

A reunion of the immediate and extendedfamily of Mr. and Mrs. Vibert A. Bodden, (better known as Mr.Vibert and Mrs. Annie Laurie) of Crewe Road, Grand Cayman washeld on the island from Friday, July 28 - Sunday, July 30, 2000.

Family members traveled from various locations around the worldincluding Germany, Canada, Venezuela, New York City, Florida andTexas to participate in the reunion. The family of Mr. and Mrs.Vibert A. Bodden consisted of eleven (11) siblings:

Charles A. Bodden, Vernie D. Bodden, (deceased), Naomi N. BoddenPanton,
Virgil D. Bodden (deceased), Annie Laurie 'Peachie' Bodden, Kohlmier,Lois P. 'Patsy' Bodden Hydes, (deceased), Edna G. Bodden Jackson,Phoebe S. Bodden Abrams, Katherine A. Bodden Coxe, Vibert 'Vacho'A. Bodden, Eldon 'Donnie' Bodden

Six of the eight surviving siblings were in attendance, alongwith many of their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildrenand great-great grandchildren. A total of sixty-three family members,immediate and extended, attended the events as well as many friends.

The events included a banquet and dance held on the evening ofFriday, July 28th at the Marriott ballroom. During the eveningthe guests were treated to a history of the family, various tributesto departed family members, and an opportunity to view a displayof the family tree dating back to the early 1700's. Entertainmentwas provided by the local band, Heat.

Saturday evening, July 29th the family attended a dinner hostedby Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hunter at their home in Grand Cayman.

On Sunday, July 30th , Ms. Anna Rose Bodden, a cousin of the familywho resides in Grand Cayman, hosted a picnic lunch at her homein Rum Point.
The love and laughter shared by the family during this time wassomething to behold. For many in attendance, this was the firstopportunity they had ever had to meet each other. Plans for futurefamily events are being considered as they look forward to maintainingthe strong family ties that have bound them together and passingtheir Cayman heritage on to the future generations.
