A salary and benefits survey among memberorganisations of the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce is tobegin shortly and at the end of it employers .will have up todate information on compensation levels for a wide range of jobswithin the private sector.
The last Salary and Benefits Survey wasconducted in 1999 by the consulting Canadian firm Dickson Hall& Associates, an Overseas Member of the Cayman Islands Chamberof Commerce with special expertise in the Caribbean. It providedconsulting services to Cayman's public and private sectors formore than 12 years.
"The Salary and Benefits Survey hasevolved over the years into a critical document for human resourceprofessionals in Cayman. The survey enables them to compare compensationlevels industry wide. We should, however, be careful not to limitour use of the Salary and Benefits Survey to just Cayman. Similarsurveys are used around the world to help both employers and employeesunderstand how compensation levels in Cayman compare on an internationalbasis," Chief Executive Officer of the Cayman Islands Chamberof Commerce, Mr Wil Pineau, has said.
A release from the Chamber said the organisationis planning to expand the scope of the 2001 Salary and BenefitsSurvey. The last survey included a review of 2,454 positions inover 100 companies throughout the Islands.
For the 2001 survey, the Chamber is aimingto receive salary and compensation data from more than two hundredChamber member companies, twice the number of participants inthe second survey. The survey is confidential and all data arecompiled by the industry sector with no reference in the finalreport to the company submitting the information..
The Chamber said the data which are maileddirectly to the firm in Canada are destroyed once tabulated bythe consultants.
