The front page placement given to storiesof the Footballers of the Year (Issue # 94) and the Rookie ofthe Year who is now in the UK trying out with a professional team(Issue # 96), indicates that your newspaper recognizes the tremendousnews value in the achievements of our young sports men and women.Indeed Issue # 94's highlight has helped to underscore the significantstrides being made in women's football.
Your focus on these stories also demonstratesyour appreciation for the inspiration that this kind of sportsjournalism can and does provide for our young people.
At a time when it is far too easy to seekto profit from the sensationalism that negative events often generate,it is refreshing to see that Cayman Net News is helping to promotepositive images for Cayman's youth, a role that is, of course,an important part of the public trust with which the media operate.
