In 2000 and 2001 the Cayman Chapter travelledto Nicaragua and Honduras to repair and build clinics and schoolsfor the Miskitu Indians. This year ADRA Cayman will not be goingon its annual overseas mission as an important local project hasbeen brought to the agency's attention.

Mrs. Leatrice Robinson is a senior citizenwho lives in West Bay. She separated from her husband twelve yearsago, and since she received no spousal support she took domesticjobs to support herself.

Unfortunately, physical and medical problemshave rendered her unable to continue to work for several years, and since she has no other source of income she has become indigent. The situation is such that Mrs. Robinson is presently living inan inadequate illegal room built in the back of a family member'syard.

"We wanted to take on a local projectand when I investigated her living situation it was substandard.

Situations like these should not be allowedto exist when we have persons willing to give their time and effortto do something about it," commented Shirline Henriques,ADRA Cayman Coordinator.

In an effort to raise money to build Mrs.Robinson a one-bedroom apartment of her own ADRA Cayman contactedHosanna Universal Music Ministries (HUM). HUM, a Jamaica basedorganization, has a long history of raising money for indigentpersons in need of special medical care.
