Close Brothersannounces scholarship recipient

Caymanian Katrina Jurn is this year's recipientof the Close Brothers (Cayman) Limited academic scholarship. Thescholarship will cover the majority of Katrina's tuition at theUniversity of Pennsylvania, where she intends to study InternationalFinance and Economics.

Since graduating from John Gray High Schoolin 1999 in the top 2% of her class, Katrina has attended the UnitedWorld College of the Atlantic to attain her International Baccalaureatedegree. While studying there, she was involved in such activitiesas the Student League of Nations and HM Coast Guards. Most recently,Katrina has worked as a junior reporter for Cayman 27 and hastraveled through South America in order to improve her Spanish.

Managing Director of Close Brothers (Cayman)Limited Mr. Linburgh Martin said, "Katrina's outstandingacademic record was what really set her apart from her competition,and we are pleased that she has been accepted into the Universityof Pennsylvania." Mr. Martin added that Close's scholarshipprogram exemplifies the company's dedication to helping youngCaymanians succeed. As part of the scholarship program, Katrinawill spend her school breaks working at Close Brothers (Cayman)Limited as well as continue to work for them after graduation.

Close Brothers' scholarship program startedin September 1999 with the goal of investing in the training anddevelopment of Caymanians. Prior recipients include Emilita Cliffordand Laura Chisholm.
