Minister recoveringfollowing Appendectomy

The Minister of Planning, Communications,Works and Information Technology, the Hon. Linford Pierson, OBE,JP, is recovering in Miami following emergency surgery for acuteappendicitis. He expects to return to the Cayman Islands on 31August.
After experiencing pains on Sunday, 19 August,Mr. Pierson travelled on a commercial aeroplane to Baptist Hospitalthe following day. He was diagnosed with acute appendicitis andemergency surgery was performed on Tuesday, 20 August.
Although he has been discharged from thehospital, Mr. Pierson remains under doctor's care and is awaitingmedical approval to travel.
He notes that as a precaution, he decidedto attend Baptist Hospital in light of his previous illness; however,the appendicitis case was unrelated.
"I thank everyone for their prayersand expressions of support," Mr. Pierson says. "I amglad to report that I am well on my way to a full recovery."
