The Quincentennial DistrictCommittees are hard at work selling district memorial pavers, accepting nominations for the Wall of Honour and organizing theirindividual Quincentennial weekends scheduled for 2003.

Apart from planning theircelebration weekend in 2003, one of the main responsibilitiesfor the district committees is to determine the names of the individualsfrom their district that will be placed on the Wall of Honourwhich will be unveiled on January 27, 2003.

The committees will maketheir selection from the nominations that are made by membersof their community. All it takes to nominate an individual thatyou feel is deserving of this honour is to complete a nominationform and submit it to the Quincentennial Celebrations Office ofyour district committee by September 23, 2003. Nomination formsare available from the Quincentennial website at www.cayman500.ky,district committee members, Government Administration and willsoon be appearing in all post boxes.

A further responsibilityfor district committees is to raise the funds necessary for anotherQuincentennial project the district memorials.

Funds for the memorialsare being raised through the selling of pavers that will be placedaround the base of each memorial.

Members of the public canpurchase pavers and have their name forever engraved onto it orthe name of a loved one or family member.

This is an ideal way foreveryone to celebrate our past, present and future. Pavers areavailable for only $25 and each paver can hold one name.
