Mr. Donald Jackson and hiswife Eleanor started Island Insurance Brokers earlier this year.It was incorporated on March 5th and the Cayman Islands MonetaryAuthority granted their brokers' license twenty-three days lateron the 28th.
The business may be new,but Mr. Jackson is not new to the business. He was the foundingpresident of Cayman Islands General Insurance Association, whichwas founded over twenty years ago, and he served on the executiveboard for many years. "I have thirty years experience inthe insurance field," he says.
Island Insurance offerscoverage for a variety of insurance needs, such as commercialproperties, private homes, motor vehicles and burglary. However,no matter what type of insurance one may be seeking, one thingis true for all: Mr. Jackson is concerned with getting his clientsthe right amount of coverage for the right price. "It's adifficult time [to be] in [the] insurance business," he admits."The rates have increased tremendously, money is hard tofind, there's an economic crunch and we're in the midst of thehurricane season! These are hard times, and everyone is understrain. I just want to find my clients the best coverage at anadequate premium."
If there is one thing thatMr. Jackson wants people to know is that Island Insurance is theonly truly independent insurance brokers in this island. "Otheragents and brokers," he explains, "are owned by or affiliatedwith insurance companies. We have no affiliation with anyone,and as such we can provide the best service to our clients withno conflict of interests."
