Matthew Seales
Last November, Matthew Seales began takingsailing classes through a school programme, and pretty soon discoveredhe had a talent for it.
"It's relaxing," he says. "Youget to meet a lot of people. It gets technical but it's a lotof fun."
Matthew is very committed to the sport.He is one of the three-person Youth Squad, and training is takenvery seriously.
"(Some weekends) the three of us willgo out and each will watch what the other is doing and we helpeach other out. It takes a lot of dedication to stick with it,"he says.
Sailing regattas have already taken himto Martinique, Montreal and Little Cayman. This coming December,as a member of Cayman's Youth Squad, he'll participate in oneof the largest youth regattas in Miami.
"My goal is to try to finish mid-fleet,"he says. "There will be over sixty boats there, so if I finishmid-fleet I'll be happy."
