Jeffrey Dawkins of Green Thumb Nurserypresents four Christmas trees for the prisoners at Northward.

The inmates at H. M. Prison at Northwardwill be treated with the spirit of Christmas this year thanksto the donation of live Christmas trees to be displayed in thevarious wings of the institution and its Chapel. Accepting thetrees from Billy Adam of Hobbies and Books are Senior Prison OfficersTad Welcome (left) and Frank Marshall.

Christmas at Northward Prison this yearwas looking bleak. The decorations and other items associatedwith Christmas had been destroyed during the riot of 1999 andshortage of funds meant that replacing them was at the lower endof the priority list. When Cayman Net News heard about the problem, they approached local businesses to enlist help.

Hobbies and books and Green Thumb Nurseries responded to the callby providing Christmas trees for use at both Northward and Fairbanks.
The Assistant Director, Mr. Frank Marshall says that he neverceases to be amazed by the generosity of the Cayman people andtheir willingness to help out when the need arises.

Mr. Marshall sends his thanks to all that have given their timeor resources to help, both at the prisons and with the variousprojects being carried out through "Project People".
