Pirates Week winners row
New Tourism Minister, the Hon. McKeeva Bush,was on hand to do the honours on Friday November 24 as the winnersof the Pirates Week contests collected their plaques and prizesduring the Pirates Week Awards and Appreciation Night at PedroSt James.
Caught receiving their awards from the Minister are:
1. Audrey Whittaker, Chairperson of theNorth Side Heritage Day Committee which won the District and OverallFloat Parade.
2. Brent McLean, who won the Coors LightSongFest with the tune entitled, 'No X4U'.
3. Fitzroy Ogiville of the Royal CaymanIslands Police (RCIP) Dominoes Team which won the Red Stripe DominoesTournament.
4. Mr David Jarman, Principal of theSt Ignatius High School which won the Western Union SteelbandCompetition.
Individuals and companies that assistedin hosting the festival were also recognised and presented withappreciation plaques.
In his address, the minister acknowledged the contributions ofhis predecessors, thanked the volunteers and supporters and saidhe looked forward to the further development of the national event.
