National Trust receives significantdonation

The National Trust for the Cayman Islandshas come in for a close to US$28,000 windfall from charitabletrusts administered by the Bank of Butterfield.

Bank Senior Manager, Mr Doyle Dally, is said to have notifiedthe Trust recently that "various capital market exerciseswhich had charitable trusts in their structure, and for whichthe National Trust for the Cayman Islands was the residual beneficiary,had come to an end."

Trust Executive Director, Ms Barrie Quappe, is quoted as sayingin response: "It is the foresight and commitment of the partiesresponsible that will help the National Trust in its goal of sustainedcare for the preservation of natural environments and places ofhistoric significance, especially towards operational costs."

Mr Doyle is quoted as saying: "The Bank of Butterfield ispleased to assist the National Trust in its mandate to preservethe National Environment of these islands."
