New attorney fo Hunter &Hunter "emminently Suitable Candidate"

Mr Jonathan Stott Tarboton

In the words of Mr Nigel Clifford, seniorlitigation partner at the law firm, Hunter & Hunter, an "eminentlysuitable candidate" in the form of Mr Jonathan Stott Tarbotonwas presented in Court on Monday December 3, in front of ChiefJustice Smellie for admission as an Attorney-at-Law in the CaymanIslands.

An academic high-flyer with excellent experience in fields ofpractice highly relevant to this jurisdiction, Mr Tarboton isjoining the Litigation Department of Hunter & Hunter. He hasdegrees in both English and Law from the University of Natal,South Africa, where he graduated with distinction in 1992.

He then gained a first-class degree from Cambridge University,England, in corporate law and finance, international sales, commercialinsurance law and restitution.

An Attorney of the Supreme Court of South Africa, and a Solicitorof the Supreme Court of England and Wales, after practising inSouth Africa for two years in the fields of litigation, insolvencyand commercial law, Jonathan worked in the Office of the OfficialReceiver in London as an Examiner/Investigator.

He then joined the City firm of Travers Smith Braithwaithe, workingon Corporate and banking matters. He also has experience in thefield of corporate management.

In addressing the bench for the first time, Jonathan expressedhow honoured he felt at joining such an esteemed profession.
