New Negotiating Team off toMeeting with FATF

A government delegation from the CaymanIslands has left for Miami for a meeting with the FATF's ReviewGroup of the Americas on Wednesday, 13th December.
Heading the delegation is Leader of Government Business, the Hon.Kurt Tibbetts. Accompanying members are the Hon. Linford Pierson,the Hon. George McCarthy, the Hon. David Ballantyne, Mr. AldenMcLaughlin, MLA, Managing Director of the Monetary Authority Mr.John Bourbon and DCI Brian Gibbs of the Financial Reporting Unit.
The meeting with the Review Group of the Americas is to discussCayman's current status with respect to the FATF's 25 criteria,against which a number of countries were evaluated in the FATF'sJune 2000 report.
The results of the Review Group evaluation will go to the FATFplenary in late January 2001, for a decision to be taken by theFATF as to whether to de-list the Cayman Islands.
