Boxing DayBeach Run is on

Organized by the Phoenix Athletic Club andsponsored by Quin and Hampson, the Annual Boxing Day Beach Runis expected to once again attract a large number of visiting andlocal participants.

A perennial holiday favourite, the early-morningevent is an opportunity to get together and enjoy a friendly competition,a great breakfast, and the chance at winning several awards.

Expected to make return appearances thisyear are defending champions Chris Estwanik and Emily Davies.Chris, who has shown tremendous ability in his middle-distanceand cross-country running career at Wake Forest University, hasspent his Christmas breaks in Grand Cayman for many years now,and will be looking to claim a fourth consecutive beach run victory.Cayman's own Emily has started to take her running and triathlonsvery seriously, and is currently competing for Ontario, Canada'sBrock University.

The annual event has proven to be a highlypopular one, which last year saw nearly two hundred participantsrun, jog and stroll the one-and-a-half mile course along SevenMile Beach, despite the blustery weather. Those who take partthis year can expect another distinctive
