Lynn M. Bodden
She mixes self-confidence with a friendlydemeanor and one cannot help but get the impression that LynnM. Bodden is someone most people would like to be around.
Her friendly, helpful nature complementsher role as one of the Directors at Bodden Corporate Serviceswhere she expertly meets the often-demanding requirements of herco-workers and clients.
"I consider myself a people person,"Lynn is quick to say. "I like meeting people and being ableto help them."
After graduating from the Cayman IslandsLaw School in 1994, Lynn obtained her Professional Practice Certificateand decided to pursue a career in Trust. She was a Trust Managerat ATC Trustees Limited for four years then changed her careerpath and accepted her current position at Bodden Corporate Services.
"It's challenging and there is varietyand it gives me an opportunity to help people and make a difference,"Lynn explains of her new position where she handles numerous mattersrelating to immigration.
She said that her new position has alsoallowed her an opportunity to reestablish a working relationshipwith Sherri Bodden-Cowan whom she considers a respected and hardworkingprofessional.
And Lynn's community work demonstrates thesame vigor and gracious character that dominates her professionallife. Since 1989 she has held membership in a number of communityand charity groups including the Love the Children Foundationand the Miss Cayman Committee, and she continues to be activelyinvolved in some, often playing key roles in their developmentactivities.
She is also a Trustee of the Meg High Children'sCancer Foundation whose aim is to provide financial assistanceto children afflicted with cancer. To date this young organizationhas donated $3,500 towards assistance in the treatment of MartikaRankine who unfortunately departed last month.
Lynn devotes the rest of her time to herseven-year-old daughter Kaylyn. During the third and final yearof an honours programme at the Cayman Islands Law School, Kaylynfell ill at three weeks old and was hospitalized, yet Lynn managedto expertly juggle the seemingly conflicting roles of mother andprofessional. "I returned to Cayman and put in nine hoursa day studies to graduate with honours among the top percentagein my class," she relates.
Lynn's father first came to the Cayman Islandsin 1965 and Lynn is now a naturalized Caymanian. She proudly recallsbeing involved with her father, the late Keith Baldwin, in theformation of Blackbeard's Rum Company established in 1986.
"My father asked me to make rum cakeand sold it at his Crewe Road store and two other places,"she says. That outfit now has nine locations throughout the islandsand Lynn continues to enjoy her involvement with Blackbeard'sworking alongside her brother Bill who manages the company.
Having recently processed Articles to beadmitted as an Attorney at Law, Lynn looks forward to future challengesand stimulating endeavors.
