Sunshine Suitesnow Branded Wyndham

A fillip to this country's attempts at balancingits tourism product is a recent announcement that a leading internationalbrand name is this month taking over a local hotel, making Caymanits first venture into the Caribbean islands.

Wyndham International has said SunshineSuites Ltd. will be converting the Sunshine Suites Hotel on GrandCayman's Seven Mile Beach to the Wyndham brand in December andit is to be known as 'Sunshine Suites ­ a Summerfield Suitesby Wyndham.'

"Wyndham's expansion into the CaymanIslands will prepare the company for the next resurgence of leisuretravel. In addition, we now will be able to offer travellers tothe Cayman Islands a trusted brand name, as well as the valuablepersonalized service and amenities only offered at Wyndham,"a company statement quoted Fred J. Kleisner, Chairman and ChiefExecutive Officer for Wyndham.

"In the midst of a tightening economy,it's important that Wyndham continues its plans for aggressivegrowth in the all-suite hotel segment," he added.

The company statement, released worldwide,described Grand Cayman as one of three coral islands set in thenorthwest Caribbean Sea and said it is famous for its underwaterbeauty and friendly, inviting culture.

"Centrally located in the heart ofthe Seven Mile Beach area, Wyndham's Sunshine Suites is near someof the areas hottest attractions. Travellers can enjoy a numberof watersports, play on the islands only 18-hole championshipgolf course, explore the area's world class shopping and someof the finest restaurants on the island."

Wyndham International said it offers upscaleand luxury hotel and resort accommodations through proprietarylodging brands and a management services division. Based in Dallas,Wyndham International owns, leases, manages and franchises hotelsand resorts in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbeanand Europe.
