Cable & Wireless employees enjoyed aspecial staff Christmas party this year as a reward for a yearof hard work and dedication.

The event took place at the Westin CasuarinaResort and offered Cable & Wireless staff members and theirdates the chance to win over 80 prizes, including airline ticketsto Miami and a weekend package to Little Cayman, as well as giftbaskets and gift certificates to local restaurants, spas, andbeauty salons.

Corporate Communications Manager AndreaFa'amoe said: "Cable & Wireless holds a staff Christmasparty every year, but this year we wanted to make sure it wasextra special. It has been a hard year in many ways for our staffand we wanted to show the company's appreciation for their efforts."

This year's event did indeed take on a newdimension, as Cable & Wireless General Manager Timothy Adamand Heads of Department, Albert Anderson and David Bodden, providedsome of the entertainment. All three treated the staff to renditionsof popular country & western songs with the help of a karaokemachine and much to the delight and amusement of their audience.

Mrs. Fa'amoe said: "The karaoke sessionreally set off the evening, and the staff appreciated the homegrowntalent of our management. It was a night to enjoy ourselves andleave the hard work of being the islands' sole telecommunicationsprovider behind for a little while. "

At the end of the night, staff by and largejudged the event to be a success. After listening and dancingto the sounds of local band 'Heat,' happy partygoers left withspecially made Cable & Wireless Christmas ornaments and phonecards in hand. Quite a few lucky winners also left with theirraffle prizes. Each staff member will also receive a photo asa memento of the evening.

"It was another Cable & Wirelessteam effort, and we thank all of the staff volunteers who madeit possible. We also extend our thanks to the many companies whodonated prizes and entered barter arrangements with us to provideour staff with a wide range of high quality items to win,"Mrs. Fa'amoe said.
