Cayman IslandsLaw School Congratulates Achievers
Three Cayman Islands Law School studentshave been granted the Queen's University Postgraduate Certificatein Cayman Law after passing all elements of the assessment.
Mr. Mark Beckford, Ms Andrea Bodden andMs Deborah Drummond "exceeded the appropriately rigorousstandards set by the external examiners of the Queens University,Belfast," said the Director of the Law School, Mr. MitchellDavies. "We extend our warm congratulations to them."Mr. Beckford and Ms Bodden were sponsored by Hunters, local attorneys-at-law.
A total of nine students sat the exam inSeptember. Three of them were awarded conditional passes; theywill receive the Queens Certificate upon successful completionof one component of the September examination. Another candidatewho received a conditional pass is also required to resubmit hisassessed dissertation. The two remaining candidates are requiredto repeat all of the examination components.
"All candidates who were unsuccessfulin one or more examinations will, subject to compliance with mandatoryattendance and internal assessment requirements, be afforded anopportunity to repeat those examinations in April 2002,"Mr. Davies said.
