New PublicHealth Fees

At a recent meeting of the Legislative Assembly,amendments were made to the Public Health Law (1996 Revision)that set new fees for cemetery plots, ships (rodent control) andother miscellaneous charges.

The changes are documented in the CaymanIslands Gazette dated 3 December 2001 and are effective immediately.All fees are payable to the Cayman Islands Government prior toreceiving the services listed below:

The Public Health (Cemetery Fees) Regulations,2001
· The cost per vault is now $1,200.

The Ships (Rodent Control) (Amendment) Regulations,2001
The fees for a deratting or exemption certificate are:
· $100 for ships measuring up to 100 feet; and
· $200 for ships measuring over 100 feet.

The Public Health (Miscellaneous Fees) Regulations,2001
· The rental of a chipper machine to shred wood, vegetation,or other matter is $65 per hour.

· The cost of the food handlers'public hygiene training course is $15 per person.

· The cost of the cosmetology publichygiene training course is $15 per person.

· The cost of swimming pool operators'public hygiene training course is $25 per person.
