Kapaun works on his car after engine troubles during the race.

With nightfall
descending, Wayne Kirkconnell prepares to enter the race.
Saturday night at Jay Bodden's marl pit under the flood-lights was where the action was for the Cayman Motorsports Association, and the fans loved it that way.
The cool night air made it much more enjoyable for all.
The beginning of the story was all about
the relative newcomer, club-secretary Bobby Hulse, and veteran
driver Frank Williams, both in front-wheel drive Toyota Starlets,
sponsored by K.F.C. and C.A.R.S.
Bobby claimed pole position with a 51.09 for the shortened track,
with Frank a quarter of a second behind.
In the first race, a five lapper, Bobby squeezed ahead of Frank into turn one and never relinquished the lead, and went on to take the chequered flag.
Bobby was closely followed by Frank, then Wayne Kirkconnel in third position.
For the rear-wheel category, Kenny Norman took top points.
In the 10-lap race, where the winner of the five-lap claims pole position, Bobby Hulse proved invincible.
Frank Williams tried everything he knew to slip by but Bobby's calm style was unbeatable this time, and he claimed the lap of honour, stealing the chequered flag for the second time.
A spirited drive by Harry Jackson yielded 65 points for third place.
Again, Kenny Norman captured the winner's flag for the rear-wheel drive cars.
Then came the 12-lap handicap race, where the grid is based on the reverse of qualifying. Eddie Thompson, driving a Toyota sponsored by Aralco, found himself sharing the front of the grid, having pushed to the limits during qualifying, his first time out racing in a front-wheel drive car.
And so unfolded perhaps the outstanding drive of the day.
Eddie, a whopping two seconds a lap slower than the pole sitter, kept his nerve and his line, as wily veteran Frank tried everything in his armory to get by.
In an impressive exhibition of driving, Eddie held off all attacks to claim the winner's flag, his first sortie onto the track for over three years.
Again it was Kenny Norman who crossed the line first, for the rear wheel drive category.
And so to the main event of the evening, the 20-lap race.
Here the grid is based on the random drawing of numbers, and saw past 100-lap-winner Rambo Barrett on pole.
But the speed of Frank, whose second lap at 49.79 was the fastest time of the day, proved too much for the veteran Rambo, and once Frank had snickered into the lead, all drivers were powerless to stop him from crossing the finish line first, ahead of Bobby Hulse and Rambo, who came in third.
In the dexterity event, where a single car races against the clock, veteran and multi-championship winner Gary Huggins tried his hand in a Toyota starlet, and knocked fellow veteran Peter Davey off his winning perch to set a new record, the first time ever recorded under 37 seconds.
Then McCoy, driving his low and wicked looking Honda, came in second with an impressive 37.33 while Peter Davey in his Honda Accord, had to settle for a 37.63 to come in third.
