The Cayman Islands Must Become Independent Immediately
Dear Sir,
I came here fourteen years ago to escape becoming a member of the then proposed "United States of Europe".
The prospect of being dictated to by the un-elected bureaucrats of Brussels and the whims of France and other envious authorities was anathema to myself and my decision has been confirmed during the last few years by the impositions by London on our laws and way of life.
The denigration of Royalty was the last straw for me and like some other ex-patriates I am becoming an ex-patriot.
Consequently I have firmed my opinion that Cayman is now in real danger and must, repeat must become independent immediately.
I am constrained to write about this now
as I read in your paper that an expert says it will take 10 to
15 years to be independent!
This is the most shattering news. Why so long? If this is the
case we must find means to refuse unwanted dictates from London
(they are only politicians) and fight in the International Court
if necessary to maintain our freedom.
