SuspectUnder Arrest For Curtis Seymour Murder

About 4.30 pm on Saturday, 5 February 2000a man was arrested by CID Officers of the Royal Cayman IslandsPolice in connection with the murder investigation of Curtis Seymour.The man is presently in custody assisting with enquiries intothe investigation.

ESCAPED PRISONERIDENTIFIED
Travis Ebanks...Escaped from Central Police Station At 11:35AM on Sunday morning it was discovered that a remand prisonerescaped from custody at the cell block facility at Central PoliceStation, George Town. The 19 year old prisoner, Travis Ebanks,was remanded by the Court for theft of motor vehicle, other trafficrelated matters and a drug and also a drug related offence. Anexamination of the cell in which Ebanks was being held revealedthat the window had been forced from it's secure frame and housingon one side, allowing enough room for the prisoner to escape.
The cells, from which Travis Ebanks escaped are in the blockwhich were constructed approximately two years ago, in an effortto upgrade and replace the dilapidated conditions of some in anolder block. The construction of the windows have been examinedby the RCIP's Crime Prevention Officer, and the Public Works Departmenthave begun to reinforcement works.
Police are appealing for Travis Ebanks to turn himself in andrequests the public's assistance, to report any sighting of thisescaped prisoner or know of his whereabouts to contact any PoliceStation or call 911.
Travis Ebanks, is described as having a light complexion, ofmedium build, 5ft 9ins, weighing about 150 lbs., brown eyes, usuallyuntidy with unkempt hair, mustache and small beard, a square chinand has an unusual feature of large teeth.

OTHER POLICEREPORTS
There continue to be a spree of burglaries to commercial andresidential properties. The RCIP is appealing to residents andbusiness owners to exercise preventative measures to thwart theseincidents.
Vehicles are also being targeted for theft ... for their contentand the automobile as well. In one report, a turquoise colouredSuziki Jeep with a white top, Licence No. 47950 was reported stolenfrom an apartment complex in South Sound on Sunday morning.
