Tony Elliot
Quick to smile and quick on his feet isthe best way to describe 28-year-old Tony Elliot, the captainfor the Buccaneers.
Tony comes for a family that breathes, eats, watches and playsrugby.
Originating from Hawick, Scotland, Tony competed with the town'steam, and the U-18 and U-19 South Scotland's youth national rugbyteams.
"I came from a rugby playing town in Scotland. Rugby is thenumber one sport. I was brought up watching and playing the game.I stuck with it because I enjoy playing it," said Tony Elliot.
It is nothing strange to see Tony working out in the gym threetimes a week and training on the field, preparing with the Caymannational rugby team for the Rugby World Cup qualifiers in September.
"Being in shape is the key word in any sport, but particularlywith rugby. If you are fit, the chances of injury are reducedand you just enjoy the sport more," he explained.
As scrum half, Tony is the link between the forwarders to theback-line, which feeds his team with chances to score a try. Asa captain, he has to be quick on his feet to orchestrate his team'sdirection and play.
So far this season, all is working well for the captain of theBuccaneers, as they have been undefeated, and no other team haseven had the opportunity to score on them either.
Tony is employed with BPC Plumbing as project supervisor and doeshave a second passion - golf. He is said to have a three handicap.
