A 'Sour Pie' - in Barlow'sface

Dear Sir,

A standing ovation to you, sir, for yourEditorial of 26 January, and similar applause to our ImmigrationBoard for handling a sour subject -- and reminding that freedomof speech and residence both carry responsibilities.

And, a very sour Cayman lime pie in the face to Mr. Gordon Barlowand others like him who find Cayman such an intolerable placeto live.

Why is it that the most comfortable are often the first, loudest, and most enduring complainers? Haven't we had enough insultingeditorial cartoons, whining on call-in-shows and toxic lettersto editors?

There are empty seats on Cayman Airways every day. Why not packthat attitude, support our national airline, and a create a cleanerenvironment for the rest of us who cherish this privilege of livinghere - and hope to be part of the long-term solution rather thanthe immediate problem.

I was granted the privilege of Caymanian Status in March 1997and hang my laminated certificate on my office wall. Not a daygoes by that I am not grateful, because for over 25 years, thiscountry has given me more than I can ever hope to repay.
